Your download is step one.

Now put Helios Grade where Resolve can find it. It arrives as a ZIP containing a plugin bundle, not a separate app.

Copy this entire folder. Leave the files inside it together.

Helios Grade setup

Unzip the download, then copy the whole plugin bundle into DaVinci Resolve's OpenFX Plugins folder.

Updating an existing copy?

Follow the same steps and choose Replace when your computer finds the old HeliosGrade.ofx.bundle. Do not keep both versions. Your activation is stored separately, so updating does not use another device seat.

  1. 1. Download the latest version

    Get the macOS ZIP from the public downloads page.

  2. 2. Quit DaVinci Resolve

    Resolve only looks for plugins when it starts. Quit the application completely before replacing a plugin.

  3. 3. Unzip the archive

    Double-click the ZIP in Finder. Inside is HeliosGrade.ofx.bundle.

  4. 4. Copy the bundle into the OFX plugin folder

    Copy HeliosGrade.ofx.bundle into this folder:

    /Library/OFX/Plugins

    Fastest way there: copy the path above, switch to Finder and press ⇧⌘G (Go → Go to Folder), paste it and press Return. Finder opens the folder so you can drag the plugin straight in.

    Final location should be /Library/OFX/Plugins/HeliosGrade.ofx.bundle. Do not copy only the files inside the bundle; Resolve needs the whole HeliosGrade.ofx.bundle folder.

    This folder needs administrator access. Finder will ask for your password when you drop the bundle in. If the Plugins folder does not exist, create it — in Finder, press ⇧⌘G, enter /Library/OFX, and make a folder called Plugins.

  5. 5. Start Resolve

    On the Color page, add Helios Grade from the OpenFX library.

First install: activate the plugin
  1. Open the plugin's Licence section and choose Activate Helios Grade.
  2. When the browser opens, return to Resolve and choose Check activation to reveal the code.
  3. Enter that code in the browser and approve the computer.
  4. Return to Resolve and choose Check activation once more.
Verify the download or clear a security warning

To verify the ZIP, run this command and compare the result with the SHA-256 on your downloads page:

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/HeliosGrade-macOS.zip

Installed, but can’t find it?

Open the Color page, select a node, open Effects and search “Helios Grade”. Drag it onto the node. If it is missing, fully quit Resolve, check the final folder path above, then reopen it.

It appears in the OpenFX library under Colormetric Labs. It is not a Workflow Integration.
