Your data rights
How to see, correct, export or delete the data we hold about you.
Version 2026-09-22.1 · in effect from 2026-09-22.1
What you can ask for
- Access and portability. A copy of the personal data we hold about you, in a structured, machine-readable format. You can download it yourself, immediately, from your account settings page — there is no need to ask.
- Rectification. Correction of anything inaccurate. You can change your display name yourself from your account page. Your email address is how you sign in, so changing it has to be verified — write to us and we'll do it with you.
- Erasure. Deletion of your personal data. You can delete your account yourself from your account page. See the limits below.
- Restriction and objection. A pause on how we use your data, or an objection to a use we base on legitimate interest.
- Withdrawing consent. Where we rely on your consent — cookies, for example — you can withdraw it at any time from the cookie policy page. Withdrawing does not affect what was lawful before you withdrew.
How to make a request
Access, portability, correcting your display name and deleting your account are all self-service from your account settings page, and take effect immediately. You do not need to ask us, and we do not need to approve it.
For anything else — changing your email address, restriction, objection, or a question about what an export contains — email support@colormetriclabs.com from the address on your account, and say which right you are exercising. We respond within 30 days. If a request is unusually complex we will tell you before that deadline and explain why more time is needed.
We may need to confirm you are who you say you are — usually by asking you to reply from the account email address, or to quote an order reference from your purchase history. This is to stop someone else obtaining your data. There is no charge.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself from your account settings page. It takes effect immediately: your email address and display name are removed from the account record, your sign-in is deleted so the address can no longer be used to log in, your download history is erased, and every computer you had activated is deactivated.
What we must keep. Records of purchases, invoices, refunds and the agreements you accepted are retained for the period tax and accounting law requires, and to defend legal claims. These are kept separately from your profile details and are not used for anything else. This is a legal obligation, not a choice, and it is the one limit on the right to erasure that applies here.
Deleting your account ends your licences. They are marked as ended and your activated computers are deactivated, so they cannot renew their authorisation. A computer that is currently offline keeps its paid capabilities until the authorisation it already holds expires, which the product stops accepting after 7 days without validation. It then returns to its stated unlicensed behaviour, such as watermarking rendered output or disabling paid write actions. That is a consequence of licences working without an internet connection, not a delay in acting on your request. This cannot be undone, and buying again would mean paying again. If you want to keep using a product, do not delete the account it was bought on.
Automated decisions
We do not carry out profiling or automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects. The one automated rule that affects you — the limit on how many computers can be activated at once — is a term of the licence you bought, applies identically to everyone, and can be resolved by deactivating a computer or by writing to us.
If you are not satisfied
Write to us first at support@colormetriclabs.com — we would rather fix it than have you escalate. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: in the EEA, your national data protection authority; in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office; in India, the Data Protection Board established under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
