Refund policy

How the 15-day refund window works, and the rights that outlast it.

Version 2026-09-22 · in effect from 2026-09-22

You have 15 days to ask for a refund

Everything Colormetric Labs sells is a digital product, delivered to your account and downloadable immediately after payment. Even so, we will consider a refund request made within 15 days of your payment. Write to us at support@colormetriclabs.com from the address on your account and tell us what went wrong.

After 15 days we no longer offer refunds as a matter of policy. Where a product offers a free evaluation, use it before buying; where it does not, review the product page and compatibility requirements first. This is a commercial policy, and the paragraph below sets out the rights it cannot touch.

If a refund is made, your licence ends with it: the product goes back to its unlicensed behaviour on your computers. Nothing is deleted or uninstalled, and you can buy again at any time. We do not take the money back and leave the software working.

You accept this explicitly at checkout, before paying, alongside the terms of sale and use. Your acceptance is recorded with the date and the version of each document, and a copy is emailed to you.

Colour grading purchases

You receive a watermarked graded preview before payment and decide whether to buy the finished files. If you do not want the result, you may decline it before payment and no purchase is made.

When you choose to pay, you expressly request immediate supply of the finished files and accept the grading purchase wording shown with the approved preview. A change of mind after the agreed files have been delivered does not by itself create a contractual refund right.

We will provide an appropriate refund, replacement, re-delivery or other remedy if:

  • the paid files are not delivered;
  • the delivered files are corrupt, unusable, materially different from the preview you approved, or otherwise materially fail to match what we expressly agreed to deliver;
  • you are charged more than once for the same purchase;
  • we accept payment but cannot complete or supply the agreed order; or
  • applicable law gives you a right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.

Please contact support@colormetriclabs.com with the project and payment identifiers and a description of the issue. We may ask for information reasonably needed to diagnose a technical problem. Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory consumer right, remedy, warranty or conformity protection.

Rights this policy cannot limit

The 15-day window is our own commercial promise. It does not, and legally cannot, replace the protections you have if something is actually wrong with the product.

If the software is defective, deficient, or does not have the characteristics we advertised, you are entitled to a remedy regardless of how long ago you bought it — under India's consumer protection rules for e-commerce, and under the equivalent conformity rights in the EEA and the UK. Tell us and we will put it right or refund you. We will not point at this policy to avoid that.

Consumers in the EEA and the UK generally have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance purchase within 14 days. At checkout you separately ask us to begin digital supply immediately and acknowledge that the withdrawal right may end once supply begins, to the extent applicable law permits. Those confirmations are recorded. Our own 15-day promise remains available on the terms above.

Evaluate before buying where an evaluation is offered

Rendering effects may provide complete, time-unlimited use with a watermark. Workflow panels may let you browse templates, preview results and edit controls while reserving Apply or other project-writing actions for a paid licence. The product page states the exact evaluation available; do not assume every plugin uses a watermark or that every paid action is available before purchase.

Download-only products, such as LUTs and presets, cannot work this way. Their product pages describe exactly what is in the pack, and we are happy to answer questions before you buy — write to support@colormetriclabs.com.

Before you buy, please check

  • Your version of DaVinci Resolve is supported (listed on the product page).
  • Your operating system is supported.
  • You have run the free watermarked version, where the product offers one.

“I changed my mind”, “I bought the wrong product”, “I did not use it” and “my computer does not meet the requirements” are not grounds for a refund.

When we will put things right

This policy does not remove your legal rights, and it does not cover our own mistakes. We will refund you if:

  • you were charged twice for the same product, or charged in error;
  • the product is materially faulty — it does not do what its product page says — and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time;
  • we cannot deliver the product to you at all;
  • the law where you live gives you a refund right that cannot be waived by agreement.

Write to support@colormetriclabs.com with the order reference shown in your purchase history and a description of the problem. We answer every message.

How a refund is processed, if one is due

Refunds are issued through Razorpay to the original payment method, normally within 5 to 10 working days of approval. Once a refund is processed, the associated licence is marked refunded: activated computers stop renewing their authorisation, and once the current authorisation lapses the software returns to the unlicensed behaviour stated for that product. You do not have to delete anything.

Your order history is kept either way, so there is always a record of what happened.

Chargebacks

If something has gone wrong, please contact us first — a chargeback costs us a fee and takes weeks, where an email usually takes a day. We will always try to resolve a genuine problem. Accounts subject to a chargeback raised without contacting us may have their licences suspended pending resolution.
