You need DaVinci Resolve.
The grade is delivered as a Resolve project and a PowerGrade. Those open in DaVinci Resolve and in no other application — not Premiere Pro, not Final Cut, not Avid. A LUT is not a substitute: it cannot carry the windows, trackers and qualifiers a real grade depends on.
How it works
Step 1
Send a still and tell us about the work
Export a frame from Resolve, tell us what you shoot and where it will be seen. A still is a few megabytes, so this takes a minute.
Step 2
We price the job
We look at the footage and the look you are after, then send you a price. Nothing is charged, and you are free to say no.
Step 3
You send the clip
Once the price is agreed, upload the shot you want graded. Only then, so a question never costs you an upload.
Step 4
You see it before you pay
We grade it and send a watermarked preview. If it is not what you wanted, you do not pay.
Step 5
You get the project and the PowerGrade
Pay, and the DaVinci Resolve project and PowerGrade unlock in your account, ready to drop onto your own timeline.
What to send, and how to export it
To price the job we need one frame that honestly represents the footage — ungraded, and in the camera’s own colour space.
- No grade on it. No nodes, no LUT, no Fusion. Otherwise we are grading someone else’s grade, and the latitude you already spent is gone.
- Camera-native, not Rec.709. If your project is colour managed, the output transform is baked into anything you export — it looks right on screen and leaves us nothing to work with.
- DPX or 16-bit TIFF. EXR is fine too. JPEG and PNG are 8-bit, and their banding is indistinguishable from your footage’s own.
- Full timeline resolution. A 1080p timeline holding 4K clips exports a 1080p still, which misrepresents the noise and the detail.
- A frame worth judging. Properly exposed, and with skin in it if there are people in the piece.
A screenshot is not a still.
A screen capture of the Resolve window is 8-bit with the interface baked in, and it is no use for grading. Export the frame from Resolve itself, so the file carries the image data rather than a picture of your monitor.
If you are not sure, send what you can and tell us your colour management settings on the form. We would far rather interpret an imperfect still than have you guess.
What you get back
A DaVinci Resolve project and a PowerGrade you can apply to your own timeline, plus the reference stills the grade was built on. The grade is yours to keep and to reuse on future work.
Pricing and timing
Every job is priced individually once we have seen the footage — the work in a single portrait and in a multi-camera wedding are not the same, and one list price would be wrong for both. You see the price before any grading happens, and the result before any money changes hands.
